Quick Chargers Will Motivate Nissan LEAF Adoption in Europe

Long charge-time serves as one of the major complaints against EV driving. To combat this criticism, our favorite automaker created the Nissan LEAF: a 100-percent electric model with an impressive drive range of 75- to 100-miles. With 36 states selling it, the eco-friendly vehicle has already seen wide circulation throughout our nation. Our fellow Nissan lovers in Europe, however, could use a little push. In order to encourage overseas adoption of the LEAF, the automaker has decided to give away quick chargers.

More specifically, 400 EV charging stations across Europe will receive brand-new quick charging devices. Using one of these gadgets, LEAF owners can recharge their lithium ion batteries from zero to 80-percent capacity in only 30-minutes. Compare that with the five to nine hours EV and plug-in hybrid charging can take and you'll see why we at Garland Nissan are so impressed.

Slated to launch this coming February, the devices will offer not only speed but convenience as well. Pierre Loing, VP of Nissan Product Planning, assures, "With a significant number of (quick chargers) available across Europe, EV owners will be able to recharge quickly no matter where they go."1

At this point in time, we don't have any LEAF models available at Garland Nissan, 2507 Fort Campbell Blvd Hopkinsville, KY 42240. But as soon as they arrive to our vehicle showroom we promise you'll be the first to know. For now, Garland Nissan invites you to follow our blog and stay up-to-date on all new Nissan information.
